For info. Apple have released version 4.0 of the Apple iOS operating system today and it is now available for download & install from the iTunes store.
According to Apple . . .
'iOS 4 was made available to the public for the iPhone (4, 3GS, 3G with limited features) and iPod Touch (3rd gen, 2nd gen with limited features) on 21 June 2010'
